Current legislation, The Safety, Health and Welfare Act (2005), indicates that every workplace regardless of the number of employees are required by law to provide sufficient training in fire awareness to every member of staff.

This course provides candidates with the necessary training when it comes to using different fire extinguishers and furthermore the protocol of how to deal with a fire within the workplace.

How long is the course?

The duration of the course is 25 minutes of instructor led video content, with additional time required for answering interactive questions throughout the course.

Assessment

Like all our interactive e-learning courses that we provide here at First Aid Direct, every candidate is required to engage with the course material and answer multiple-choice questions throughout each module. To successfully pass the course candidates must receive a minimum of 70% for modules 2 and 3; ‘Fire extinguishers’ and ‘Pre-Engagement Action’ and 100% on the final module, ‘Using a Fire Extinguisher’.

3. Using a fire extinguisher

Accreditation

This course is approved by The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), First Aid Direct and also it is accredited for 1 unit of CPD.

Certification

Upon completion of the course candidates will receive a ‘Fire Extinguisher’ certificate.
