This 3 day First Aid Responder (FAR) training is recognised by PHECC (Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council) in providing approved training in Ireland including cardiac first response. The course formerly known as the ‘Occupational First Aid Course’ (FETAC Level 5) is designed to meet the needs of basic life saving skills requirements within the workplace and is also approved by the Health and Safety Authority (HSA).
The child and family governing agency TUSLA, has also recommended this FAR training course as the standard for child care.
Who should attend F.A.R Training?
This PHECC accredited First Aid Response course may be a healthcare practitioner, or a member of the public who has undertaken a First Aid Response course incorporating the Cardiac First Response (CFR) standard. Typically, it includes those involved in the health sector especially those working in hospitals and medical care professionals.
**Note: It is only deemed necessary to complete this course should your businesses risk assessment warrant it.
An alternative option, is our certified ‘Emergency First Aid at Work’. Customers to date have found this course to be both cost and time effective. It is an interactive course that provides candidates with the fundamental practical and recommended life-saving skills to deal with an emergency situation.
Cost
- Public instructor led First Aid Responder training in our facility in Dublin 24 is €335 per person for the 3 day's training.
- Private instructor led First Aid Responder training onsite is €1,450 for the 3 day's training. With the price broken down, it costs €181.25 per person (max of 8 people).

First Responder Training: FAQ
After completing the first aid responder course you will possess the following general skills. The ability to:
- deal with life threatening or potentially life-threatening conditions in the workplace until the arrival of emergency medical services
- provide your far training for conditions not thought to be life-threatening but are necessary to prevent further harm before the emergency medical services arrive
- provide pre-hospital first aid response in a wide range of environments including home, recreational and workplace settings
- display the requisite personal skills including composure, competence and self-confidence while understanding the limits of the far training,
- manage such incidents and during handover to ems.
