In May of 2020, the Health and Safety Authority released figures illustrating the number of fatalities within the workplace over a twelve year period since 2008. The notable and alarming statistic being that an average of 49 people each year have encountered a fatal injury while at work here in Ireland. Historical evidence suggests that of the numerous workers who suffer any work related injury, many were not wearing the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) clothing.
This training is designed to show the importance of wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when it comes to prevention and reducing fatalities, injuries and diseases that would otherwise take place in the workplace. It provides essential training insights into the various PPE options available, the legislation and regulations applicable to employees, employers and suppliers surrounding the use of PPE.
We also examine risk assessment when it comes to selecting the appropriate PPE along with further hazard control measures that can be implemented.
Finally, our Personal Protective Equipment online course provides information on how to use PPE, while understanding its physical and theoretical limitations.
**This online training can be completed in partnership with our Infection Control course, which we additionally provide online.
